These terms govern your use of the Walkadia website (walkadia.app) and the Walkadia app. By using the site or the app, you agree to these Terms.

What Walkadia is

Walkadia is an app for iPhone and Apple Watch that generates ambient sound tuned to your walk. The website exists to tell you about it, and to let you sign up for updates.

Your account

Signing up on the website creates a free subscription tied to your email address. Keep that address accurate if you want to hear from us. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your subscription at any time — see the privacy policy for how.

Using the site and app responsibly

Don't misuse the site or the app: do not attempt to break or probe their security, scrape information, or use the app or site to infringe anyone else's rights or to break the law.

Subscriptions

Some features of Walkadia require you to purchase a subscription.

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews, unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your account settings on the App Store after purchase.

Subscription payments are non-refundable.

Walk safely

Walkadia is designed to accompany your walk, not to distract from it. Stay aware of your surroundings, especially near traffic. Keep the volume at a level where you can hear the world around you, or use transparency mode. You are responsible for your own safety while walking.

Not medical advice

Walkadia is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and nothing in the app or on this site is medical advice. If you have a condition that affects your ability to exercise, talk to a medical professional before changing your activity.

Ownership

The Walkadia name, the site, and the app are ours (or licensed to us). We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use them as intended.

The sounds the app generates

The sounds Walkadia generates are created entirely by our own algorithms — no licensed samples or third-party instruments — so we can and do license them generously: all audio the app generates is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). That means the sound from your sessions, including recordings you export, is yours to keep, share, adapt, and use — commercially too — as long as you credit Walkadia.

App Store terms

When the app is distributed through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard licensed application terms also apply to your use of the app, to the extent they don't conflict with these terms.

No warranty

The site and the app are provided "as is" with no warranty.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or the app. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months for your use of the app or website.

Changes

We may update these terms as Walkadia evolves. We'll revise the date at the top of this page, and material changes will be announced to subscribers by email. Continuing to use the site or app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable in it. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
